About the Role

Adult Social Care is part of the Adults and Wellbeing Directorate and covers a wide range of services/activities to help people live as independently as possible, stay safe and support their wellbeing. We currently have an exciting vacancy within our team to enable us to continue to build on our success and bring new experience, knowledge, and ideas into the team. As an Equipment Service Development Officer, you will be a key member of a multi-disciplinary team within the North Community Neighborhood Team offering a borough wide service. You will play a vital role in promoting the independence and wellbeing of service users who are from the deaf and hearing-impaired community.


About you

You will be expected to have qualifications such as NVQ level 3 / HND or City in Guilds level 2 course or relevant to working with deaf or hard of hearing people, plus at least 2 years’ relevant work experience. Be experienced in signing and have a Level 2 British Sign Language. You will be committed to personal and professional development.

Experience and Knowledge

You will have experience of direct working with adults and children who are deaf or hard of hearing. Hold a good knowledge of the equipment that may be beneficial for deaf people and knowledge of the national social care agenda. Experience and understanding of working in partnership with service users to promote choice and control.

You’ll also be able to establish and maintain excellent working relationships, and negotiate effectively with all key stakeholders, including providers, service users, direct payments and social work teams.

Be able to manage resources and capacity in an innovative and creative way to best meet the needs of service users. Have good IT skills to be able to develop and maintain information management systems.
Organizational skills, priorities and manage workload over extended periods, producing accurate work within deadlines.


Lastly you must be willing and able to travel to sites within the Trafford Borough
