GMFRS Volunteer Cadet Instructor

We are pleased to announce this fantastic opportunity to join Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS).

We are recruiting members to join our Fire Cadet scheme and become a Volunteer Cadet Instructor.

About the Role:

As a Volunteer Cadet Instructor, you will support the delivery of a programme of activities, (classroom, drill yard activities, teambuilding, fundraising etc), ensuring compliance with relevant Fire Cadet guidance and helping our cadets gain a qualification through classroom and practical activities.

To ensure we have support needed for each unit to operate, we ask you to commit to a minimum attendance of 2 sessions per calendar month, each session is 3 hours. There may also be other activities, such as fundraising and community events, that we ask you to support which take place over weekends.

Cadet Unit Sessions take place during term time Monday to Thursday, 16:30-19:30, at the following locations:

Wythenshawe: Monday
Bury: Tuesday
Eccles: Wednesday
Bolton: Thursday

Further locations across Greater Manchester will be added as the GMFRS Cadet Programme grows.

About you:

About the Volunteer Recruitment Process:

We will use your application to assess your skills, knowledge, experience and availability, to identify if you are an ideal candidate to volunteer for GMFRS, so tell us as much about you as possible.

This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (1974) and will require disclosure of all convictions including those considered spent under the Act. The role holder will be subject to an Enhanced level check by the Disclosure & Barring Service
