About us
Warrington Borough Council seeks to recruit an exceptional Transport professional to lead the Specialist Transport Service through an exciting time for the Borough.
Our Specialist Transport Service provides essential transport services every day to children with Special Educational Needs and adult social care clients using our own in-house accessible minibus fleet and through a range of private hire contracts.
And as an integrated specialist transport service we have also been successful in securing Bus Service Improvement Plan funding from Government which is helping us to invest in our network by introducing more bus priority measures, real time passenger information, capping bus fares and improving the range and frequency of bus services. Further to this the successful candidate would chair the Enhanced Partnership we have with all of Warrington’s bus operators.
We are also worked with a new commercial partner on replacing our bus shelter estate, have a well-established Enhanced Partnership Forum with our bus operators and supporting our council owned bus operator, Warrington’s Own Buses on delivering a zero emission bus fleet in a new, state of the art all electric bus depot, all to make our network the best it can be in support of getting bus patronage to more than it was pre-pandemic.
The role
Specialist Transport Services Manager - Warrington Borough Council seeks to recruit an exceptional Transport professional to lead the Specialist Transport Service through an exciting time for the Borough. Hours of work are 37 hrs per week.

You will ideally be qualified to degree level with significant experience in local authority Public and Specialist Transport operations, a good people person with excellent communication and management skills, a fast thinker with a can-do mentality.
