The Department and The Building Control Team
This is an exciting opportunity within the newly formed Department for Business, Growth and Infrastructure, where the heart of what we do will be to deliver many large scale development proposals on many sites to take the Borough forward for the next decade.

Our busy Building Control Section covers a wide range of work from commercial town centre schemes to domestic developments. Bury already has an extremely active development sector and we are looking to maintain and build on the successes we have delivered on. The potential for growth is boosted by Burys excellent transport infrastructure with direct access to the M66 which provides access to the M60 connecting all local areas and M62 linking to wider areas of the North West and Yorkshire, with a access to Manchester City Centre via the Metrolink tram network.

The Posts

We are seeking hardworking, ambitious and enthusiastic surveyors who possesses excellent communication skills and are committed team players.

The roles are career graded post but we are principally looking to identify experienced people within the field that can drop in to the team having already a good deal of experience in Building Control.

Pay/Grading

Being recently re-evaluated posts, the roles are based upon 37 hours per week with a Career Grade salary of scale between 10 to 16, this equates to £34,314 - £51,802 per annum (Local Pay Award Pending). These roles have been designed to support career progression and depending upon experience the relevant level of entry to the role will be applied.

We are actively seeking to appoint experienced candidates who are registered with the Building Safety Regulator at level 2A-2F & 3G/H to support current activities.

Experience

We are seeking a hardworking, ambitious and innovative Building Control Officer who possesses excellent communication skills, with a commitment to quality and are able to work within a team of qualified staff in the delivery of a Building Control Service.
