The Role

We are seeking to recruit an effective manager to be responsible for the operational management of our School Meals and Building Cleaning Service.

Reporting to the Services for Schools Manager, you will lead a team of operational managers, and circa 700 frontline staff.

The service plays a key role in supporting the Bolton 2030 Vision outcome of ensuring ‘our children get the best possible start in life, so that they have every chance to succeed and be happy’.

About You

You will have extensive operational management experience and advanced knowledge of the commercial food industry and cleaning industry in relation to large-scale contracts (often delivered across multiple sites) in the education sector and business/commercial sector.

You will possess dynamic leadership skills and be an excellent communicator with broad experience of engaging with key stakeholders, including Headteachers, Business Managers, parents, children and young people, and elected members to promote service development and excellence.

You need to be a forward thinker and passionate about the service - someone who can effectively manage, persuade and negotiate within a commercial setting and bring forward innovative solutions. You will also be able to adapt to change easily and have a high level of financial acumen and experience of working in the public sector.

This is your opportunity to join us at an exciting time as we have strong ambitions for the borough.
